Simple Football Predictor: Week 16 Predictions
As a Jets fan, last week was pretty tough. The win against the Rams knocked them out of the first overall pick, most likely for good. The matchup was also up there as one of the most confident predictions my model ever made, at an 85% certainty that the Rams would have won. But hey, at least I picked the Jets against the spread.
Week 15 Results:
Last week the model went 10–6, which is good but not as good as it almost was. Besides, for the Jets upset over the Rams, The suddenly not-very-good Steelers were also upset by the Bengals. There was also the Falcons who, not for the time, let me down by blowing a major lead. Then there was the Raiders’ last minute loss to the Chargers, though I won’t complain too much because I won a decent amount in daily fantasy from this match. If the Falcons and Raiders hold on, and the Rams and Steelers do their job, I was looking at a season best 14–2. Alas it was not meant to be.
For the season I now improve to 83–64 and a 56.46% accuracy, a little less than the 60% I was aiming for, but not terrible.
After a 3–13 week 14 against the spread, the model bounced back with a season best 11–5, bringing its record up to 52–51–2.
